a community of Jesus Christ,
sharing his love in our homes, schools
and workplaces,
that the world will be transformed by
his presence.

our vision statement for 2010, endorses the best of St James’ ministry so far, and takes us forward into the future with a sharper focus.

We are motivated by Ephesians 4 v12-13:

“ to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.”

We want to see the church as a place for inspiring, refreshing and equipping all members to be sharing the gospel in word and action in their everyday lives. Then we will see God glorified in our local community, further afield and to the ends of the earth.

How can we grow on this in 2010?

  • A more intentional focus on equipping the congregations to be ministers in their everyday lives.
  • Church as a place to inspire, refresh and build up the saints for their service in the world, helping people discover their gifts and receive input to grow.
  • Building on connections into the community, and resourcing community events more than starting our own.
  • Discussion starter for small groups and individuals
  • Update on the way forward Feb'10
